You can ask Ulembawi what personal data we hold about you, request correction, object to certain processing, or ask us to delete information where no legal basis requires retention. You may withdraw consent for optional newsletters without affecting access to free articles. You can lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you believe we mishandled your data.
We respond to rights requests through the contact page on ulembawi.blog. We may need to verify identity before exporting programme notes or deleting account artefacts. We aim to answer within a reasonable period consistent with UK expectations, faster when urgency affects your wellbeing or security.
What we collect when you browse
Servers log technical data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, approximate referrer, and timestamps. We use this to keep the site secure, diagnose outages, and understand which wellness topics resonate. Logs are retained briefly unless security investigations require longer storage.
Analytics cookies, where enabled, help us see aggregate traffic patterns. They do not need to know your name to be useful. Details sit in our Cookie Preferences Notice, including how to opt out of non-essential measurement.
When you write to us
Messages sent via the contact page include whatever you choose to type—often questions about habits, programmes, or partnerships. Our community board routes these to editors. We store correspondence long enough to reply, follow up on consultations, and demonstrate how we handled a concern.
Do not send passwords or payment card numbers through free-text fields. Programme billing, when applicable, uses separate secure flows described during consultation.
Programme participants
Coaching may involve schedules, goals, dietary preferences, or movement limitations you share voluntarily. We treat this as special category adjacent data only when you bring health into scope; we minimise collection to what the programme needs and restrict access to assigned editors.
Workshop attendance lists for employers contain names and roles supplied by the client. We delete or return lists according to contract terms agreed after discovery calls.
Why we process data
Legal bases include legitimate interests in running a health-focused blog safely, performing contracts for paid programmes, complying with law, and consent where we ask explicitly—such as optional email digests about new guides on sleep or desk wellness.
We do not sell personal data. We do not buy lists of emails to blast unrelated products. Partnership inquiries are evaluated by Daniel Foster’s ethics review; sponsors never receive reader medical details.
Sharing and processors
Infrastructure providers host ulembawi.blog under data processing terms. They may process logs and backups in the UK or EEA. We require confidentiality and security commitments proportionate to the sensitivity involved.
We may disclose information if law enforcement presents valid orders or if disclosure prevents imminent harm. We will push back on overbroad requests where permitted.
Retention and security
We delete or anonymise contact threads that no longer serve support, legal, or programme history. Backups rotate on a schedule; deleted records may linger briefly in encrypted backups before expiry.
Access controls, encryption in transit, and staff training reduce risk. No online service is perfectly secure; report suspected breaches through the contact page so we can investigate quickly.
Children
Ulembawi targets adults managing work and lifestyle. We do not knowingly collect data from children under sixteen. If you believe a minor contacted us, ask for deletion and we will comply promptly.
Changes
When our practices shift—new analytics tool, different workshop provider—we update this notice and, where required, refresh consent banners. Continued use after a clear change means you acknowledge the update.
